Not necessarily. If a safe traitor (eg you) was murdered it throws suspicion on the two who weren't. 
Not saying you are a traitor, but you weren't necessarily immune from being murdered.

It keeps me in the mix either way as neither Betty nor myself have been cleared with Benjis reveal.

There could have been a dagger in the armoury which would have given someone a double vote.
